Beno Kolarič

The craft of honey-based products and candle-making, also known as the "lectar" craft, involves the production of honey, candles, and decorated gingerbread hearts. It is one of the oldest crafts in Styria and is distinctly an urban craft.

Beno Kolarič is a Maribor native who values three things most in life: his family, his work, and bees. He took over his father's workshop, which today boasts more than 70 years of tradition.

With his love for traditional craftsmanship, he has become part of the "living cultural heritage," a title bestowed upon him by the Maribor Regional Museum.

In addition to preserving this unique artistic craft, Kolarič is also renowned for his exceptional precision in work, particularly when it comes to decorating products, which can be found in his shop on Glavni Trg for all occasions.
