Explore Maribor's cultural and creative scene
In the cultural districts of Maribor, established and young creators from Maribor and all of Slovenia meet at concerts, exhibitions, and workshops. The Narodni dom event center, with over 1800 events annually, ensures lively activities in the city center for all tastes, while Vetrinjski dvor serves as an event and production incubator for local cultural organizations.
Visit the Minoriti cultural quarter, which combines the Maribor puppet theatre and the Maribor puppet museum amidst the labyrinths and halls of a former monastery. In the house where puppets live, many other performances, exhibitions, festivals, concerts, and film screenings occur.
The Židovska cultural quarter is a living time machine from the middle ages to contemporary creativity. It impresses with galleries and creative spaces. In the former factory warehouse spaces, the innovative art center GT22 has come alive. The only independent cultural center in the city is Pekarna, squatted for 30 years, with a constantly exciting program of concerts, exhibitions, and events.
