Library cycle: AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL MEMOIRS OF DR. IVÁN JUREČEK

discussion about the book AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL MEMOIRS OF DR IVAN JUREČEK
Who was Ivan Jurecko? A boy from the surroundings of Slovenska Bistrica, who at the beginning of the First World War graduated in medicine, was a military doctor, an expert witness at the Maribor court, a lecturer, a specialist in nervous and mental diseases, and much more. Dr. Gregor Antoličičič, author of the 50th volume in the series Materials for the History of Maribor and mag. Nina Hriberšek Vuk from the Maribor Library will present the interesting life of the Maribor doctor, who in his memoirs described his life from his childhood in the country and his studies to the two World Wars and the time between them. It is biographies or personal memoirs such as Jureček's that offer us the opportunity to learn about the thinking and actions of people who lived during a period of tectonic shifts in human history. How did individuals find themselves in these times? What was daily life like for someone on the frontline of the First World War or during their captivity in the Second World War
