In the framework of the exhibition Spekter. 70 Years of the UGM Collection, our colleagues will give short, 15-minute presentations highlighting selected works and placing them in a broader historical and art-historical context.

UGM (Strossmayerjeva ulica 6)
Spekter. 70 Years of the UGM Collection

The temporary display of the UGM Collection was created by the designer David Tavčar, who combed through the museum’s collection to select over 250 works of art featured in the exhibition, some iconic, some lesser known, and others shown to the public for the very first time, and arranged them across seven rooms and two halls into a singular, vibrant experience. The major exhibition at the UGM | Maribor Art Gallery opens up a spectrum of views, positions, and forms, both within the artworks from the UGM Collection and in the art of exhibition-making as such.

Ferdo Mayer / An Artist Dedicated to Colour

In partnership with the Kamnik Intermunicipal Museum – Gallery Miha Maleš and Mayer family, we showcase a selection of paintings by Ferdo Mayer (1927–1994), a painter born in Maribor and lived there for his first 27 years. He first displayed his artwork in his hometown in 1941 while still a high school student. He had a solo exhibition there in 1954. Additionally, he relocated to Kamnik for work this year. A selection of his extensive body of work is on display in this exhibition.

White, White Winter / Sales exhibition of Slovenian illustrators' works

In collaboration with the Center of Illustration, we are presenting a sales exhibition featuring 24 Slovenian illustrators from various generations who are showcasing their work. The exhibited images span many artistic expressions, from children's fairy tales and fantasy to humorous, lyrical, and realistic.
