Severa Gjurin z zasedbo – Spring
Lent before Lent – a warm-up for Festival Lent 2025!
Severa Gjurin, an exceptional Slovenian musician and visual artist, who has been nominated for Slovenian Woman of the Year and has captivated audiences for two decades with her distinctive soft yet powerful voice, returns to the stage of Narodni dom Maribor.
On May 20, 2025, at Narodni dom Maribor, she will present her new original album Spring with a band of top musicians. This highly anticipated album, released on vinyl (LP), CD, and digital platforms, features ten intimate yet lively songs, blending emotional lyrics with rich yet minimalist arrangements.
In addition to composing the music and writing the lyrics, Severa also created illustrations for Spring, which intertwine as a visual element with the music. The album was co-created with renowned musicians Dejan Lapanja, Uroš Rakovec, Danijel Bogataj, Žiga Golob, and Blaž Celarec, with whom she recorded seven songs. The basic tracks were recorded live in the studio to capture the authenticity of the moment and the unique vibrations of each song. Together with Gal Gjurin, who has been working between Slovenia and Canada in recent years, she created the songs Kamin and Sonce, which add a special richness to the album’s soundscape. The first single, Hipi zamaknjen, is accompanied by a music video that reveals the creative process and enhances the song’s playful nature.
Expect calm music, ballads, and more upbeat songs, but above all, music that will encourage you to pause for a moment. “I wanted it to vibrate well. I like it, so I smile.”
You are warmly invited.
