Slovenia Counts is an original project that foregrounds the country as a collective endeavor – something that doesn’t happen by itself but requires constant work: building, maintaining, transforming. At the center of this performance is a machine – a symbolic mechanism powered by all of us who participate in the everyday “Project Slovenia.” Every move, every heartbeat, every contribution becomes part of this machine, which lives and runs on rhythm – literally, as it is driven by a musical beat and bodily movement.

In this sense, Slovenia is not a given, but something we continuously recreate through meaningful actions. Each new act that shapes “Slovenia” results from negotiation, tension, and struggle – and it is persistence that determines whether these changes are temporary or lasting.

The performance Slovenia Counts is a living, ever-changing structure – just like the society it represents. Its direction depends on every individual. Slovenia as an idea – and as a practice – counts only as much as we invest in it.
