There, in the Garden
60. Festival Borštnikovo srečanje: There, in the Garden at the Minorite Church
The Playground as Microcosm
“Their garden is not just a place – it is a quiet refuge, where idyll appears as the trace of human effort. Their garden is their body.”
The creators invite the audience into an intimate space for two – a garden where sound and movement intertwine, opening a space for listening, wonder, and observation. With a curiosity born from the pure instinct for connection, they guide the viewer through a performance that sees the garden as a playground, a microcosm of interpersonal relationships, a place of encounters and invitations. Together with the audience, they observe how small gestures trigger reactions – both in the garden and beyond – and emphasize the vital role of our senses in experiencing the world.
In this performance, the human body becomes a sensitive tool, interwoven with inter- and transdisciplinary structures that reveal the interconnectedness of all life. Underneath it all runs a reflection on how society values the human relationship with nature.
Tending the garden becomes a symbol – a cultural and personal practice that links us with all that is alive and invites us to choose a more genuine, more sensing presence in the world.
