60. Festival Borštnikovo srečanje: Where Do We Live at Koroška 10

Questions for a Contemporary Society

Although the housing issue is inextricably linked to existential insecurity, daily life, and the feeling of belonging to a community, public discourse often reduces it to dry statistics and data analysis. The original project Where Do We Live approaches this topic differently – as a multigenerational and complex issue that cuts deeply into the fabric of contemporary society.

Instead of statistics, the focus is on personal stories – individual insights into the housing market, where a home is no longer seen as a place to live but as an investment, a source of income, and capital accumulation. The project unveils the invisible layers of the free market and encourages reflection on the consequences this logic has for quality of life, social security, and intergenerational justice.

The performance not only provides a glimpse into the actual state of the housing market and the (un)availability of national and municipal housing solutions but also opens space for dialogue, reflection, and the search for ways out of the widespread housing crisis.

The meeting point for the audience is at Koroška cesta 10. Part of the performance takes place outdoors, so we recommend comfortable clothing and footwear. Strobe lights are used in the performance.
