Tomaž Domicelj and The Stroj

The The Stroj collective has been forging its unconventional yet spectacular musical path for nearly three decades.
They first caught the attention of both local and international audiences in the late '90s with their innovative use of percussion and other instruments crafted from discarded machine parts and industrial waste. Known for their theatrical performances, atmospheric aesthetics, pyrotechnics, astonishing energy, and rhythmic precision, they continue to captivate audiences at every concert.

Tomaž Domicelj

"77 years in the world – 60 years on stage" is the motto for this year's performances of the icon of Slovenian singer-songwriter music. Tomaž Domicelj will once again perform at the Lent Festival after several decades, this time in a solo show, with a powerful twist — he has decided on a fully electrified performance. One voice, two hands, three guitars, four necks, and five harmonicas. Along with his standard, almost folk-like hits, he will play and sing a selection of blues, boogies, and rock’n’roll tracks from his wide musical repertoire.

"Najmočnejši ostanejo" (The Strongest Remain) is one of Tomaž Domicelj's louder hits, and its lyrics and story seem to reflect his own journey as well as that of some of his fellow artists. It also speaks to his loyal audience, which is unique to the Lent Festival in Maribor.

The collective The Stroj has been carving its unconventional yet spectacular musical path for nearly three decades. They first caught the attention of local and international audiences in the late '90s with their innovative use of percussion and other instruments crafted from discarded machine parts and industrial waste. Known for their theatrical performances, atmospheric aesthetics, pyrotechnics, astonishing energy, and rhythmic precision, they continue to captivate audiences at every concert.

At the end of last year, they released their fifth album KamenOgenjKostKladivo, continuing their imaginative journey through the history of music and technology. The eponymous stage production represents their most ambitious audio-visual project to date. KamenOgenjKostKladivo is a primal musical ritual of rhythm, sound, and voice — a wake-up call that invites dance, ecstasy, and life.
