Astrid & The Scandals
Over the past year, Astrid & The Scandals have become a synonym for tasteful music on the Slovenian scene — music that doesn’t define itself by genre, but rather through playfulness, depth, and a rich sonic texture. The singer, harpist, and band manager, Astrid Ana Kljun, took their music on its first European tour last year, visiting eight countries. This year, they entered the EMA contest with their punk song Touche, where their all-female dance crew delivered a true spectacle. On the same day, they released their debut album Today at 18:48, which across 13 songs reveals a wide musical identity, a rebellious stance toward the “instant” music industry, and the lyrical playfulness of the lead vocalist — taking the listener on a sonic adventure.
The band includes producer, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Tomaž Zupančič, who co-writes most of the songs with lead singer Astrid; electric guitar wizard Luka Flegar; and feel-driven drummer Anže Knez.
