King of the Street – A Tale of a Dignified Homeless Man

Vlado Novak, one of the greats of Slovenian theatre, steps into the role of the King of the Street and takes us on a journey through the colorful world of street life – full of humorous shades and touching details.

We follow the everyday life of Jožek, a clumsy and naïve Maribor eccentric who lives in a cardboard box in front of a Mercator store. Along the way, we discover how a clever and hardworking man can become homeless… all because of a lottery win.

His only true treasure is a kind heart, because the truest form of human dignity lies in goodness – giving even when you have nothing. Jožek isn’t the king of the street, he’s its faithful guardian and heartfelt companion. A performance that will make you laugh from the heart – and reflect just as deeply.

Duration: 1 hour 15 minutes, no intermission.
