Talk and Exhibition Opening: Mohammad Sabaaneh, Political Illustrator and Activist
On the anniversary of the Nakba, we are organizing a series of events in collaboration with our partners, placing the voice of Palestine at the center.
The exhibition opens with a conversation featuring the guest illustrator, whose works will be on display until May 30, 2025.
Sabaaneh’s illustrations have been exhibited on numerous occasions. He has published several books and regularly contributed to Palestinian newspapers, as well as occasionally to others. His cartoons are distinctly political in nature and often critique both Israel and the Palestinian authorities and political parties.
Satire and caricature are powerful forms of expression, as they require in-depth understanding, analysis of individual elements, and placing them within a broader social context.
The conversation with Palestinian illustrator Mohammad Sabaaneh—on surviving under Israel’s illegal occupation, political illustration, his experience of Israeli imprisonment, and strategies of resistance and hope—will be led by Urška Breznik.
The conversation will be held in English.
