The EuroVelo 9 (The Amber cycling Route) is part of the European cycling network and will connect the Polish east coast with the Croatian Adriatic coast in some years on 1,930 kilometers. The route will lead through the heart of Central and Eastern Europe in the future: from Danzig through Poland, Czech Republic, Austria and Slovenia to Pula in Croatia. From Austria the route connects on Slovenian soil at the border-crossing Šentilj and then continues to Maribor.
The trail is not difficult. It runs to Maribor on asphalt, mostly local roads, and through the Regional Park Rački ribniki. It is suitable for tourist recreational cycling with trekking bikes.
