First, the route takes you on a 3 km long gravel road through a wonderful Rožna Dolina, past Obrambni dom. The route begins to ascend for about a kilometre of the asphalt road and then turns into a forest to the gravel road. Local residents call this forest road "kordek". The section slightly ascends for about 8 km (600 metres of difference in altitude). It takes you past the famous hiking and cycling resting point Šanijeva Klop, to the skiing slopes Videc and Stolp. Just under the top you will arrive to the famous Church of St. Bolfenk. At the top of Maribor Pohorje there is a plain and a wonderful vista of Maribor.
Here you can also rest and refresh since you will continue on a 5 km long descent to the valley. You will take a easy downhill track on the ski slope, under chairlifts all the way to the Luka lodge, where we recommend you to rest. This is a popular hiking stop and scenic viewpoint. You then continue through the Bike Park to the Trikotna Jasa bar. Here you can refresh and enjoy the last vista of Maribor. Then the route takes you through a forest and under cable cars all the way to the valley. The route ends at the lower cable car station, with a pump track nearby.
