Trubar and Luther: Their thought in stone and words

On this unique artistic bench, there are plaques with the thought of Primož Trubar "To stand and to remain" and a sentence from the writings of Martin Luther: "Even if I knew that tomorrow the world would go to pieces, I would still plant my apple tree today."

With the bench, the author hints at the greatness of both mentioned, which stand out on the principle of "first among equals."

The bench is made of ten tons of concrete, and as a single construction, it is composed of equilateral triangular forms of different height levels. In line with the quote, an apple tree is planted next to the bench.

Architect Uroš Rošker is the author of the redesign of the interior of the Maribor Evangelical Church on Trubarjeva Street. Ten years later, he returned to it and designed this unique artistic bench, dedicated to the 500th anniversary of the Reformation or Protestantism.
